Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments to understand the challenges faced by children and adolescents, using appropriate diagnostic tools to inform treatment plans.

• Develop and implement tailored treatment strategies that reflect each child's developmental needs as well as family dynamics, ensuring therapeutic approaches are age-appropriate and effective.

• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), play therapy, or family therapy to address various mental health concerns.

• Engage in family therapy sessions, offering support to caregivers and parents to help them foster a nurturing environment that aids in the child's progress.

• Collaborate closely with child psychiatrists and interdisciplinary team members, ensuring a unified approach to patient care that optimizes treatment planning.

• Deliver crisis intervention services promptly, ensuring that young patients receive immediate support during acute mental health episodes.

• Educate children and their families regarding mental health issues, therapeutic options, and relevant community resources that support ongoing care.

• Maintain thorough and confidential documentation of patient interactions and treatment plans, adhering to all legal and ethical standards.

• Participate in ongoing professional development through workshops, training sessions, and team case consultations that promote best practices in child and adolescent mental health.

• Stay informed about the latest research and advancements in the field to enhance therapeutic approaches and the quality of care provided.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In this role, you will primarily work with children and adolescents dealing with an array of mental health challenges, including but not limited to anxiety disorders, depression, attention- deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and behavioral issues. Your expertise will be vital in creating impactful treatment strategies that support both the individual patient and their families in navigating their mental health journeys.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Active and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT in the state of California is mandatory.
\n
• A strong foundation in child and adolescent mental health disorders, along with familiarity with evidence-based treatment modalities tailored to young individuals.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating a compassionate and child-centric approach in all interactions.

• Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and various computer applications essential for maintaining patient documentation.

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience providing mental health services to children and adolescents is preferred.

• Demonstrated experience in family therapy is highly desirable.
