This position is set in a fully equipped rehabilitation center located in Avenel, New Jersey. Key Responsibilities

As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist, you will be responsible for:

• Assessing and diagnosing patients' physical conditions through clinical evaluations and functional assessments.
• Designing customized treatment plans aimed at alleviating pain, enhancing mobility, and restoring physical function based on the specific needs of each patient.
• Administering a variety of therapeutic exercises and techniques, including manual therapy, to effectively manage pain and improve patient mobility.
• Overseeing the work of physical therapy assistants to ensure adherence to the established plan of care.
• Conducting evaluations of the home environment to identify any modifications that could enhance patient independence during the rehabilitation process.
• Documenting patient progress meticulously, preparing clinical records including initial evaluations, care plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries, which will be integral to each patient's clinical record.
• Collaborating with an interdisciplinary team through regular case conferences to facilitate ongoing evaluation and treatment adjustments based on patient progress.
• Educating patients and families on effective home exercises, the use of assistive devices, and the overall treatment plan to ensure a successful recovery.
• Maintaining timely and thorough communication with the patient's physician and case manager regarding any changes in the patient's condition and necessary adjustments to the care plan.
• Staying current with best practices in physical therapy and healthcare regulations to maintain compliance and promote superior patient care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be working with a diverse population of patients recovering from orthopedic injuries, surgeries, and chronic conditions. These individuals may include athletes needing post-operative rehabilitation, elderly patients experiencing mobility impairments, and individuals with diverse backgrounds facing challenges in daily physical activities. Your role will be essential in guiding them toward independence and improved quality of life.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
• Current licensure to practice physical therapy in the state of New Jersey.
• At least one year of experience in a physical therapy setting, preferably in both acute care and home care.
• Valid CPR certification.
• Possess a valid driver's license and automobile insurance for patient home visits as necessary.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with patients, families, and colleagues.
• A passion for clinical excellence and a commitment to the highest standards of integrity and patient care.

Preferred Experience

Experience with electronic health record systems and familiarity with state and federal regulations governing physical therapy practice is preferred. A background in specific orthopedic rehabilitation protocols, as well as experience in working with diverse patient populations, will be highly valued.

Compensation and Benefits

This role offers a competitive annual salary ranging from USD 100,000 to 120,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
