Work Environment

This position is full-time and will be conducted onsite within school facilities. The role involves working closely with school staff, education professionals, and other healthcare providers to promote student health. Our facilities are well-resourced, offering access to medical equipment and support staff, which aids our Nurse Practitioners in effectively managing patient care. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive health assessments and make accurate diagnoses of both acute and chronic conditions affecting students.
• Develop, implement, and continuously evaluate individualized treatment plans in partnership with students, families, and participating staff members.
• Monitor the health status of students by ordering, performing, and interpreting diagnostic tests, as well as prescribing necessary medications and therapies.
• Provide essential health education to students and families on topics such as disease management, nutrition, mental health, and healthy lifestyle choices.
• Engage in collaborative meetings with education teams to address health-related issues that may impact student learning and overall well-being.
• Maintain accurate and secure electronic health records (EHR) to ensure compliance with state regulations and ensure the continuity of care.
• Participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives and contribute ideas on best practices within the student health services program.
• Stay current with the latest trends and developments in pediatric care, school health policies, and relevant health education resources.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with students ranging from elementary through high school, addressing a wide array of health concerns. This includes managing chronic conditions such as asthma, diabetes, and mental health issues, as well as treating injuries and acute illnesses. Your role is vital in identifying health barriers to learning and collaborating with educators to create supportive solutions.

Qualifications

• Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner with a valid license to practice in Texas.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, with a Master's Degree in Nursing preferred.
• A minimum of four years of clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner, ideally within a school or pediatric healthcare setting.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to facilitate effective relationships with students, families, and staff.
• Demonstrated ability to think critically and solve complex problems in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in a school setting or providing care to children and adolescents.
• Experience in health education and health promotion, particularly in community settings.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records systems and health management software.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of USD 120,000 – 220,000 annually, reflecting the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate.
