Key Responsibilities\n

As a licensed Mental Health Counselor, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Conducting comprehensive preliminary interviews to assess and document the clients' mental, emotional, and behavioral health.

• Evaluating client needs and developing tailored treatment and recovery plans for individuals, couples, families, and groups.
\n
• Facilitating both individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing evidence-based techniques and providing a safe space for clients to share.
\n
• Monitoring the progress of clients throughout their treatment plan, making necessary adjustments based on their evolving needs.

• Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers, to create cohesive intervention strategies.

• Maintaining thorough documentation within electronic health record systems, ensuring all client information is up-to-date.

• Following up with clients post-hospitalization to support their transition and recovery.
\n
• Identifying potential barriers to recovery and working proactively to mitigate these challenges.

• Providing support and resources to family members and caregivers of clients navigating mental health challenges.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The ideal candidate will work with a diverse range of clients experiencing various mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction disorders. Your role will be crucial in implementing personalized therapeutic interventions that empower clients to achieve their recovery and wellness goals.

Qualifications\n

To qualify for this position, candidates must possess:

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Oregon.

• A successful score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems, such as AVATAR, to manage client data effectively.
\n
• Solid understanding of the interplay between mental and physical health conditions, addiction, and recovery processes.

Preferred Experience\n

While not mandatory, candidates with the following experience will stand out:

• A background in counseling diverse populations and familiarity with American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices.
