Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist, you will take on a range of responsibilities that actively contribute to patient recovery, including:

• Evaluating and assessing patients to determine their physical therapy needs based on physician referrals.
• Designing and implementing comprehensive treatment plans that may include therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and modalities tailored for individual conditions.
• Educating and training patients and their caregivers on self-management techniques and home exercises to promote independence.
• Utilizing evidence-based practices to monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans accordingly.
• Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient outcomes and ensure continuity of care.
• Maintaining accurate patient records and meeting utilization goals as required by organizational standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with patients experiencing orthopedic conditions, encompassing a diverse range including post-operative rehabilitation, sports injuries, and chronic pain disorders. Your expertise will play a crucial role in restoring their function and improving their quality of life. Building strong relationships with each patient will be key to exceeding their functional goals and ensuring they feel supported throughout their recovery.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from an APTA or CAPTE-approved program.
• A valid state license to practice physical therapy in Virginia.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively engage with patients and colleagues.
• Proficient computer skills and familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.

Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits
