Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments to determine the needs of children and adolescents, utilizing evidence-based assessment tools and methodologies.

• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), play therapy, and other modalities to address a variety of mental health concerns.

• Collaborate with child psychiatrists and multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated and holistic care for patients.

• Respond to mental health crises by providing immediate support and intervention, employing de-escalation techniques where necessary.

• Educate patients and families about mental health issues and available resources, promoting an informed understanding of treatment options.

• Maintain precise and confidential documentation of all interactions and interventions in accordance with ethical and legal guidelines.

• Actively participate in case consultations, multidisciplinary team meetings, and continuous professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.

• Keep abreast of current research and advancements in child and adolescent mental health practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This therapist will primarily work with children and adolescents facing diverse challenges such as anxiety, depression, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and behavioral issues. The role emphasizes a strengths-based, family-centered approach that actively involves parents and guardians in treatment, fostering a collaborative environment aimed at achieving sustainable outcomes.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Psychologist in California.

• Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation and tracking patient progress.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with an emphasis on a child-centered and empathetic approach to therapy.

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in a clinical setting focused on child and adolescent mental health.
