Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments for incarcerated individuals, evaluating their personal history, presenting concerns, and potential risk factors in a culturally sensitive manner.

• Design and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to the unique needs of each inmate, focusing on mental health issues, emotional resilience, and community reintegration.

• Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed care, addressing a wide array of mental health concerns.

• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions that encourage personal insight, emotional regulation, and the development of effective coping strategies.

• Collaborate directly with psychiatrists, psychologists, and psychiatric nurse practitioners to ensure coordinated care and comprehensive treatment plans.

• Provide crisis intervention during mental health emergencies, employing de-escalation techniques and determining when to make referrals to higher levels of care.

• Educate inmates and their families about mental health disorders, treatment options, and available community resources, promoting an understanding of mental health challenges.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes to comply with ethical standards and legal regulations.

• Engage in multidisciplinary team meetings and professional development activities to enhance clinical knowledge and foster teamwork.

• Stay informed about relevant legal and ethical guidelines governing mental health practice, particularly in correctional settings.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role focuses on providing mental health services to the incarcerated population, which presents unique challenges due to the diverse backgrounds and mental health issues of inmates. Qualifications\n

• A master's degree in Social Work from an accredited academic institution is required.

Compensation and Benefits\n
