Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough preliminary interviews and document clients’ progress from initial consultation through treatment conclusion to ensure continuity of care.

• Assess and evaluate clients’ mental, emotional, and behavioral health needs, applying appropriate therapeutic frameworks to develop personalized treatment plans.

• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, ensuring a safe and supportive atmosphere for clients to explore their thoughts and feelings.

• Monitor and analyze client progress throughout the treatment process, modifying intervention strategies as necessary based on data-driven assessments.

• Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team including other mental health professionals, physicians, and social workers to create comprehensive intervention strategies.

• Follow up with psychiatrists and healthcare providers for clients admitted to hospitals to ensure holistic care integration.

• Identify potential barriers to recovery and proactively implement strategies to overcome them.

• Provide guidance and support to family members and primary caregivers on mental health challenges, fostering a supportive network for clients.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The Licensed Mental Health Counselor will work with a varied clientele, including individuals facing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, and addiction disorders. Our practice emphasizes the importance of culturally competent care to cater to the diverse backgrounds of our clients. Counselors will employ a person-centered approach that respects individual differences and promotes empowerment throughout the therapeutic journey.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Active and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in Texas.

• A successful score on relevant national examinations, such as the NCE or NCMHCE.

• Previous experience working as a mental health counselor in a clinical setting.

• Proficient in the use of electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, to document and track client interactions.

• Experience working with clients dealing with comorbid physical and emotional health issues is a plus.

• Familiarity with the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices to ensure adherence to ethical and professional standards.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with a focus on creating an empathetic rapport with clients.

Compensation and Benefits\n
