The General Hope Counseling Center is actively seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our dedicated team on a full-time, remote basis. In this pivotal role, you will provide specialized mental health counseling to individuals who have experienced trauma, helping them navigate their recovery journey with evidence-based therapeutic techniques and support.

Work Environment\n

This position operates in a remote telehealth setting, providing you with the flexibility to deliver care from the comfort of your home while effectively addressing the needs of our patients. You will work Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility required based on patient circumstances and needs. This remote environment allows for innovative counseling methodologies to be conveniently applied.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough, trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate patients' trauma history and determine appropriate therapeutic approaches.

• Design and implement individualized treatment plans centered on trauma recovery and resilience-building, ensuring each plan aligns with evidence-based practices.

• Utilize therapeutic interventions such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to facilitate patient healing.

• Conduct both individual and group therapy sessions to provide a safe space for patients to process their experiences and develop effective coping strategies.

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists and social workers, to ensure comprehensive, integrated care for each patient.
\n
• Provide crisis intervention and immediate support during trauma-related emergencies to stabilize patients in need.
\n
• Educate patients and their families about trauma responses, coping mechanisms, and resources available to aid in recovery.
\n
• Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation that adheres to legal and ethical standards, using electronic health record (EHR) systems effectively.

• Participate in case consultations, team meetings, and continuous professional development focused on the latest trauma-informed care practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be working with individuals who have experienced various forms of trauma, striving to help them build resilience and promote healing through tailored therapeutic techniques. Our patients often present with complex needs, including PTSD and related mental health challenges. This role requires a deep understanding of trauma-related disorders to facilitate effective care and recovery.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• A current and valid license as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of New York.

• A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience in a mental health counseling setting is preferred.

• Demonstrated knowledge of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment approaches.
\n
• Experience with trauma-focused therapeutic modalities and interventions is essential.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a compassionate, non-judgmental approach to patient care.

• Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in high-stress situations.
\n
• Proficiency in using EHR systems and computer applications.
\n
• Strong collaboration skills to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The salary range for this position is between $90,000 and $110,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
