Work Environment\n

This role will be performed in a remote setting, allowing for flexibility and convenience while maintaining a strong connection with our team and clients. Our work hours are Monday to Friday, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, with some evening hours on a rotating schedule based on client appointments and needs. Our remote work culture prioritizes collaboration, communication, and teamwork, ensuring that you have all necessary tools and support readily available.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough assessments that evaluate clients' mental health and substance use concerns and identify co-occurring disorders.

• Develop personalized treatment plans through collaborative discussions with clients, employing evidence-based interventions that cater to both mental health and substance use needs.

• Provide individual and group therapy sessions to assist clients in mastering coping mechanisms, relapse prevention strategies, and enhancing emotional regulation.

• Engage in ongoing collaboration with our multidisciplinary team, which includes psychiatrists, nurses, and addiction specialists, to deliver cohesive and holistic treatment.

• Implement regular substance use monitoring and utilize techniques such as motivational interviewing to support clients along their recovery journey.

• Educate clients and their families about the dynamics between mental health and substance use disorders, emphasizing the importance of treatment compliance.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation pertaining to treatment progress, interventions, and referrals, adhering to legal and ethical guidelines.

• Engage in case conferences, staff meetings, and trainings to continually enhance your proficiency in treating co-occurring disorders.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will work extensively with individuals experiencing co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, a demographic that requires a rich understanding of how these two issues interrelate. Your role will be pivotal in bringing hope and effective treatment to our clients, creating spaces for recovery through tailored therapeutic interventions and compassionate care.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current licensing as an LCMFT, LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW-C in the state of Maryland.

• Proficiency in employing evidence-based therapeutic approaches, particularly Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment (IDDT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI).

• A robust understanding of the connections and interactions between mental health challenges and substance use disorders.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, facilitating effective collaboration within an interdisciplinary team environment.

Preferred Experience\n

While a minimum of two years of relevant clinical experience is required, candidates with experience in integrated care settings, and those familiar with the challenges faced by individuals with co-occurring disorders will be favored. Experience with documentation practices and familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems is advantageous.
