Work Environment

This role requires an on-site presence as you will be visiting clients in their homes within the Fairfax community. Working with a small yet dedicated team of healthcare professionals, you will receive ongoing support and resources to aid in your clinical practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of each patient's physical capabilities, strengths, and limitations through detailed evaluations.
• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans designed to improve mobility, reduce pain, and enhance the patient's quality of life.
• Utilize various therapeutic techniques, such as manual therapy, exercises, and mobility training to facilitate recovery and promote independence.
• Educate patients and their families on injury prevention, health management, and the importance of active participation in their rehabilitation.
• Monitor and document patient progress in compliance with regulatory guidelines and provide updates to the interdisciplinary care team.
• Collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals, including occupational therapists and nurses, to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
• Encourage and motivate patients by celebrating their achievements and promoting their engagement in therapy sessions.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on geriatric patients, many of whom may be managing chronic conditions that affect mobility, strength, and overall health, such as arthritis, stroke, and post-surgical recovery. You will help these individuals regain their independence and confidence through targeted therapeutic interventions.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program is required.
• Current and valid Physical Therapy license to practice in Virginia.
• Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work effectively with patients of various backgrounds and personalities.
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to deliver patient-centered care.

Preferred Experience

Experience in geriatrics and home care settings is highly desirable. A proven track record in developing personalized rehabilitation programs and adapting them to meet the unique needs of the elderly population will set candidates apart. Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this role ranges from USD $80,000 to $90,000 annually, commensurate with experience. Additional benefits include:
