Work Environment

This position requires a full-time commitment with working hours from Monday to Friday, between 9 AM and 5 PM. As a home care specialist, you will operate in an onsite environment where therapy sessions are conducted in the personal living spaces of seniors. This unique setting allows for personalized interaction and a deeper understanding of each patient's needs, preferences, and limiters. You will be equipped with top-tier rehabilitation tools and methodologies that enhance the efficacy of your treatments.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of each resident's physical condition to identify rehabilitation needs and develop tailored treatment plans that focus on restoring function and alleviating pain.
• Implement and adapt therapy techniques, including manual therapies, exercise programs, and assistive devices, to address individual patient needs.
• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team that includes nurses, occupational therapists, physicians, and families to ensure a comprehensive approach to care.
• Monitor patient progress diligently, adjusting treatment plans based on responsiveness, progress, and new findings, ensuring all activities are documented in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Educate residents and their families about exercise protocols, safety practices, and preventative care measures to foster ongoing health and wellness.
• Actively participate in initiatives promoting wellness and preventative care, sharing insights and expertise to enhance facility programs.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Physical Therapist at Athletics Therapy Center, you will primarily work with elderly clients, many of whom may have chronic illnesses or conditions including arthritis, stroke, or post-surgical recovery needs. Your role will be pivotal in empowering these individuals to regain their mobility and autonomy, focusing on strategies that promote independence and dignity in their daily lives.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution is required; higher degrees are preferred.
• A valid Virginia PT license in good standing is mandatory.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in physical therapy, with a focus on geriatrics, rehabilitation, or home care settings.
• Exceptional communication skills that emphasize empathetic engagement, active listening, and patient-centered care.
• A commitment to promoting independence and quality of life for aging adults.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in home health care or assisted living settings will be highly regarded.

Compensation and Benefits

The position offers a competitive salary ranging from $90,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
