Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough and compassionate mental health assessments for children and adolescents to identify their unique needs.

• Design and execute individualized treatment plans that consider developmental stages, cultural backgrounds, and family dynamics.

• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and play therapy, focusing on addressing issues like anxiety, depression, ADHD, and behavioral disorders.

• Facilitate family therapy sessions, equipping parents and caregivers with strategies to support their children's emotional and psychological well-being.

• Engage in crisis intervention, offering immediate support and strategies during mental health emergencies.
\n
• Collaborate extensively with child psychiatrists and other mental health professionals to ensure a holistic approach to care is maintained.

• Educate patients and families on mental health conditions, ways to manage them, and available community resources.
\n
• Maintain comprehensive and confidential documentation of all interactions, adhering to legal and ethical standards.
\n
• Participate in team meetings and case consultations regularly to enhance therapeutic strategies and patient care approaches.

• Stay abreast of current research, treatment advancements, and best practices in child and adolescent psychiatry.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role centers on young individuals from diverse backgrounds, addressing a variety of mental health challenges including anxiety disorders, depression, ADHD, and emotional or behavioral disturbances. You will work closely with families to promote a deeper understanding of their children's needs and foster a well-rounded support system.

Qualifications\n

• Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Active licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or equivalent in the state of New York.

• A minimum of two years post-licensure clinical experience is preferred.
\n
• Strong understanding of evidence-based treatment modalities for children and adolescents.
\n
• Demonstrated ability to provide individual and family therapy effectively.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and a compassionate, child-centered approach that helps to build trust with clients.

• Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and managing related documentation.

• Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team.

Compensation and Benefits\n
