Work Environment\n

This position is remote, providing flexibility to caregivers and promoting work-life balance. The therapist will have the opportunity to conduct sessions from home or designated community spaces while utilizing digital tools for effective communication and documentation. This outpatient setting allows for adaptability in service delivery tailored to the preferences and needs of families.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual, in-home therapy sessions or facilitate group therapy sessions at our outpatient center, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.

• Implement therapeutic interventions focused on anger management, coping strategies, and social skills development to effectively reduce high-risk behaviors, such as self-injurious behavior (SIB) or physical aggression.
\n
• Work collaboratively with parents and caretakers, enhancing their decision-making skills to effectively manage behavioral challenges at home.
\n
• Cooperate consistently with the Child Family Treatment Team and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach in supporting youth and their families.
\n
• Document all therapeutic interventions, treatment plans, and progress notes thoroughly and submit them within designated time frames, demonstrating commitment to client progress and organizational standards.

• Participate in monthly team meetings, actively contributing insights and recommendations based on client interactions to enhance service delivery.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The Therapist will work primarily with children aged 3 to 20, with a specific emphasis on those exhibiting developmental and intellectual disabilities. This role requires sensitivity, emotional intelligence, and the ability to engage effectively with families from diverse backgrounds. Our clinic values bilingual capabilities in Spanish or Portuguese to better connect with clients from multi-linguistic backgrounds, promoting inclusivity and effective communication.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a related field is required.

• Must possess an active and unrestricted LMFT license to practice in California.
\n
• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during peak after-school hours (4-7 pm), with weekend availability considered a plus.

• A valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and a clean driving record for potential travel to client locations.
\n
• Ability to pass a criminal background check, inclusive of fingerprinting.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience providing positive behavior support and strategies.

• Prior experience working with children and adolescents, particularly those with intellectual/developmental disabilities.

Compensation and Benefits\n
