Better Living Counseling Center is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Therapist (LMFT, LPCC, LCSW) to join our team on a full-time basis. This role is designed for professionals who are passionate about providing specialized mental health care to individuals affected by trauma. As a key member of our team, you will play an integral role in facilitating the recovery journey of our patients, particularly those dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders.

This full-time position offers the unique opportunity of remote work, allowing therapists to provide valuable services from a safe and convenient location. While you will conduct virtual sessions with clients, our clinic remains dedicated to supporting therapists with resources, regular supervision, and access to a collaborative interdisciplinary team of professionals, including psychiatrists and additional mental health practitioners.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Perform thorough trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate individual patients' trauma histories and formulate appropriate treatment plans.

• Develop and implement tailored treatment strategies aimed at trauma recovery, focusing on building resilience and fostering emotional regulation.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to assist clients in processing their trauma effectively.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, providing a safe space for clients to share their experiences, develop coping strategies, and promote their healing journey.

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver integrated mental health care that addresses the complex needs of trauma survivors.
\n
• Provide crisis intervention and immediate support during trauma-related emergencies, helping clients navigate acute distress.
\n
• Educate patients and their families on trauma responses, coping strategies, and community resources available for ongoing support.
\n
• Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of patient records in line with legal and ethical standards, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.

• Engage in case consultations, team meetings, and professional development opportunities that focus on trauma-informed care, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.

• Stay abreast of the latest research and best practices in trauma therapy to continually enhance your therapeutic approaches.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In this role, you will primarily work with individuals who have experienced significant trauma, including but not limited to, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. Our diverse client population includes adults, adolescents, and families from various backgrounds who require compassionate support and guidance in navigating their healing journeys.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW in the state of California.

• A strong understanding of trauma-related disorders along with familiarity with trauma-informed treatment modalities and resilience-building techniques.
\n
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, exhibiting a compassionate and non-judgmental approach when working with clients.
\n
• Competence in handling high-stress situations remain calm and composed during critical moments.
\n
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and necessary computer applications for efficient documentation.
\n
• A collaborative spirit with the ability to work cohesively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Experience\n

• At least 2 years of post-licensure experience in mental health counseling, with a strong emphasis on trauma-focused therapies and interventions.

• A track record of developing effective treatment plans and facilitating successful therapy outcomes for clients with traumatic histories.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The compensation for this position ranges from $90,000 to $110,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
