Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct in-depth mental health assessments for children and adolescents to determine their specific needs and establish appropriate therapeutic interventions.

• Design and implement individualized treatment plans that are tailored to each patient, taking into account developmental stages and family dynamics.

• Deliver evidence-based therapeutic modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and play therapy, to effectively address issues such as anxiety, depression, and behavioral disorders.

• Facilitate family therapy sessions aimed at enhancing communication and support structures within family units.
\n
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including child psychiatrists and social workers, to coordinate holistic care for patients.

• Provide crisis intervention and critical support during mental health emergencies involving children and their families.
\n
• Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions and available resources to foster better understanding and empowerment.
\n
• Document all therapy sessions and treatment plans meticulously to comply with legal, ethical, and organizational standards.

• Participate actively in team meetings and case consultations, sharing insights and best practices to enhance overall care delivery.

• Commit to continual professional development by staying abreast of the latest research and advancements in the field of child and adolescent psychiatry.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This position focuses primarily on children and adolescents facing a spectrum of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, and various behavioral disorders. Qualifications\n

• A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution is required.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMHC in New York State is essential.

• A minimum of three years of post-licensure experience in mental health counseling, particularly focused on child and adolescent populations.

• Strong understanding of developmental psychology and evidence-based therapeutic approaches relevant to children and adolescents.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, which allow for establishing rapport and trust with young clients and their families.

• A compassionate and child-centered approach to therapy, with the ability to connect with children and adolescents on their level.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience in delivering both individual and family therapy is highly desirable, along with familiarity with crisis intervention techniques.

• Knowledge of community resources and referral pathways to best support clients and their families in accessing additional services.

• Previous experience working within an outpatient setting and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams will be an advantage.

Compensation and Benefits\n
