Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct initial assessments through preliminary interviews, thoroughly documenting case histories from the first consultation through the end of treatment.

• Evaluate clients' mental, behavioral, and emotional health through clinical interviews, standardized assessments, and diagnostic tools.
\n
• Develop personalized and evidence-based intervention plans for individuals, couples, families, and group therapy settings, tailoring approaches to each client's unique needs.

• Facilitate engaging and effective individual and group therapy sessions, employing therapeutic techniques such as CBT, DBT, or mindfulness-based strategies.
\n
• Regularly monitor and assess client progress, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans based on established goals.
\n
• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare providers, including psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive client care.
\n
• Schedule follow-up communications with clinicians for clients requiring hospitalization or additional care, advocating for their needs throughout the process.
\n
• Identify potential barriers to recovery and formulate prevention strategies, actively engaging clients and families in the recovery process.
\n
• Support family members and primary caregivers in understanding and managing mental health challenges, providing additional resources and education as needed.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The counselor will work with a diverse population, including individuals facing a range of mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction disorders. Our approach is client-centered, focusing on building strong therapeutic relationships and ensuring each individual feels heard, valued, and empowered in their journey toward improved mental health.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure in Washington State as an LMFT, LMHC, or LICSW.

• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of three years of proven experience as a mental health counselor, demonstrating a solid understanding of various therapeutic modalities.

• Competence in using electronic health record (EHR) systems, preferably AVATAR, to document patient interactions and treatment plans.

• Experience working with co-occurring disorders and a deep understanding of how physical health issues can impact mental health.

• Familiarity with the best practices established by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) and a solid understanding of psychiatric medications prescribed by healthcare providers.

• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, enabling effective interaction with clients, families, and colleagues.
