Work Environment

This position requires on-site engagement within a hospital setting tailored for pain management services. The collaborative atmosphere at Texas Health allows healthcare professionals to work alongside experienced physicians, nurses, and specialists, promoting a team-based approach to patient care. Your standard work hours will generally fall between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., with the flexibility to participate in occasional evening clinics until 8:00 p.m. Attendance at community outreach events or health fairs on weekends may also be expected, demonstrating our commitment to community engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough health assessments, including taking detailed patient histories and performing physical examinations to determine pain management needs.
• Diagnose and manage both acute and chronic pain conditions, incorporating evidence-based preventive care and health promotion strategies.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians and social workers, to devise and execute individualized treatment plans aimed at holistic pain management.
• Facilitate access to therapeutic interventions and coordinate referrals for specialized care while ensuring continuity of treatment for all patients.
• Maintain precise and comprehensive medical records, in adherence to regulatory guidelines and best practices, utilizing systems like EMR for documentation.
• Engage in community outreach by organizing health education seminars and workshops, reinforcing the importance of pain management and wellness.
• Regularly review community health trends and participate in professional development opportunities to stay abreast of advancements in pain management methodologies.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will be working primarily with underserved populations in Newark, addressing specific pain management challenges. Many of our patients present with complex medical histories and chronic pain syndromes, requiring a sensitive and individualized approach. Your role will be vital in advocating for these communities and ensuring they receive the comprehensive care they deserve.

Qualifications

• A current Nurse Practitioner certification.
• An active state nursing license to practice in New Jersey.
• A Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• A minimum of three years of clinical experience, ideally within community health or public health frameworks.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with diverse communities and collaboratively work with various healthcare professionals.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in pain management, addiction treatment, or similar specialties is highly favorable.
• Strong advocate for social justice and health equity, with a commitment to improving access to care for vulnerable populations.

Compensation and Benefits

The Pain Management Nurse Practitioner role offers a competitive annual salary ranging from USD 120,000 to 130,000, based on your experience and qualifications.
