Work Environment

This position is onsite at our state-of-the-art rehabilitation facility located in Newark, New Jersey. You will work alongside a passionate team of professionals, including orthopedic specialists and physical therapy assistants, dedicated to creating a supportive atmosphere that champions therapy innovation and patient success.

Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist, you will:

• Implement and direct individualized physical therapy treatment plans designed to prevent disability, alleviate pain, improve muscle function, and maximize patients' physical capabilities.
• Oversee the work of Physical Therapy Assistants to ensure seamless integration and adherence to established treatment plans.
• Conduct thorough evaluations of patients' functional abilities using diagnostic assessments to determine appropriate therapy interventions.
• Assess home environments for potential rehabilitation needs and make informed recommendations to enhance patient independence.
• Deliver on-site therapy services as prescribed by physicians, ensuring patient safety and comfort at all times.
• Administer various therapeutic techniques, including manual therapy, exercise programs, traction, and massage, while instructing patients in independent exercises.
• Evaluate and fit prosthetic and orthotic devices, collaborating with physicians to recommend adjustments as necessary.
• Document clinical information meticulously, including initial evaluations, care plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries, maintaining compliance with established regulations and standards.
• Contribute actively to multidisciplinary case conferences to discuss patient progress and treatment strategies.
• Educate patients and their families about therapy devices and overall rehabilitation programs, empowering them to take an active role in their recovery.
• Complete functional assessments on-site to refine care plans in alignment with individual patient goals.
• Assist in the ongoing development and modification of care plans based on patient progress and feedback.
• Fulfill additional duties as required to meet the company's objectives and enhance patient care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will work with a diverse patient population, including individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, neurological conditions, and age-related mobility impairments. Our team focuses on providing comprehensive rehabilitation that not only addresses the physical aspects of recovery but also considers the emotional and psychological well-being of our patients.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program.
• Current, active Physical Therapist license in the state of New Jersey, with a clean disciplinary record.
• Proven expertise in various manual therapy techniques and modalities.
• Strong ability to design, implement, and modify individualized exercise programs based on patients' progress.
• Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems, specifically Web PT, for efficient documentation.
• Commitment to staying current with evidence-based physical therapy practices.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in an orthopedic or sports rehabilitation setting is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team.
• Experience with community resources and patient advocacy.
