Key Responsibilities\n

As a Licensed Mental Health Therapist, your core responsibilities will include:

• Conducting comprehensive, trauma-informed assessments to accurately evaluate clients’ trauma histories and mental health needs.

• Developing and implementing personalized treatment plans that address individual goals, with a strong emphasis on trauma recovery and coping strategies.
\n
• Utilizing evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to guide clients through their healing process.

• Facilitating both individual and group therapy sessions aimed at helping clients process their trauma, develop resilience, and employ effective coping strategies.
\n
• Collaborating with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated and comprehensive care for each patient.
\n
• Providing immediate crisis intervention support during trauma-related emergencies, ensuring the safety and well-being of clients.
\n
• Educating clients and their families about trauma responses, effective coping mechanisms, and available resources within and outside the clinic.
\n
• Maintaining meticulous and confidential client records in accordance with legal and ethical standards, using electronic health record (EHR) systems to document assessments, treatment progress, and outcomes.

• Participating in regular case consultations and team meetings to discuss patient progress and enhance treatment strategies.

• Staying informed about the latest research and innovations in trauma therapy to continually refine your practice and expand your professional expertise.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on individuals who have experienced significant trauma, including but not limited to those with PTSD, complex trauma, and associated mental health challenges. These clients often seek support to navigate their emotional distress and reclaim control over their lives. With sensitivity and compassion, you will help them develop the skills to build resilience and engage more deeply in their recovery processes.

Qualifications\n

To succeed in this role, candidates must have:

• A master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Possession of a current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in the state of New York.
\n
• Strong foundational knowledge of trauma-related disorders and the principles of trauma-informed care, alongside experience employing trauma-focused treatment modalities.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating a compassionate and non-judgmental approach to client interaction.

• The ability to remain calm and composed, even during high-stress situations.
\n
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems, enhancing documentation and care coordination.

Preferred Experience\n

Candidates with at least 2 years of post-licensure experience in a mental health or counseling role will be given preference, especially those with direct experience in trauma-focused therapies.
