Work Environment\n

This full-time position offers a remote work setting, enabling you to provide care from the comfort of your home, while also allowing for occasional in-person meetings at our outpatient facility. Our flexible work hours are primarily Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts as needed to accommodate patient care. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments tailored to the geriatric population, taking into consideration their unique cognitive and physical challenges.

• Formulate and implement personalized treatment plans that encompass strategies for addressing emotional, psychological, and social factors.

• Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including individual and family therapy, focused on common geriatric conditions.

• Work closely with a team of geriatric psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure an integrated approach to patient care.

• Provide crisis intervention and support during mental health emergencies, ensuring that elderly patients receive timely assistance.

• Educate patients and their families on mental health conditions, treatment options, and community resources to enhance their understanding and engagement in care.

• Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation to comply with legal and ethical standards.

• Engage actively in team meetings, case consultations, and workshops aimed at enhancing professional development.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In this role, you will primarily serve the elderly population, addressing a range of mental health issues prevalent among older adults, including depression, anxiety, dementia, and adjustment disorders. Your work will contribute directly to improving their mental well-being and overall quality of life through tailored therapeutic interventions.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT in the state of California.
\n
• At least two (2) years of post-licensure experience in a mental health counseling setting, preferably within geriatric mental health.

• Strong understanding of geriatric mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment modalities.
\n
• Proven experience in delivering individual and family therapy to older adults.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with an empathetic and patient-centered approach.
\n
• Capability to build rapport and trust with elderly patients and their families.
\n
• Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant computer applications.

• Able to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team dynamic.

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in geriatric psychiatry is strongly preferred.

• Experience working in an outpatient setting, understanding the nuances of this environment.

Compensation and Benefits\n
