Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including detailed physical examinations and medical histories tailored to individuals suffering from chronic pain conditions.
• Develop and implement comprehensive pain management plans in collaboration with other healthcare providers, ensuring a multidisciplinary approach.
• Administer various pain management treatments, including medications, injections, and non-pharmacologic therapies, while closely monitoring patient reactions and outcomes.
• Educate patients and their families about pain management strategies, lifestyle modifications, and the importance of adhering to prescribed treatment regimens.
• Document patient progress and treatment effectiveness using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems, maintaining accurate and up-to-date health information.
• Provide emotional support and counseling to patients, helping them navigate the physical and psychological impacts of chronic pain.
• Engage in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care processes and health outcomes within our Pain Management department.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will be working primarily with patients who experience chronic pain associated with a variety of conditions, including but not limited to arthritis, fibromyalgia, back pain, and post-surgical pain. The role emphasizes individualized patient care, focusing on understanding each patient's unique challenges and preferences to positively influence their treatment journey.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
• Current New York State licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (NP).
• Minimum of two years’ clinical experience in pain management or a related specialty.
• Strong assessment skills and a comprehensive understanding of pain pharmacology and management techniques.
• Proficiency with electronic health record systems and other clinical documentation tools.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient interaction and teamwork.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in a hospital or clinical setting, particularly focused on pain management or similar areas of practice.
• Knowledge of holistic and integrative approaches to pain management.
• Experience working collaboratively within interdisciplinary healthcare teams.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from $150,000 to $160,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
