Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct evaluations of patients recovering from injuries, surgeries, or chronic illnesses in their home environments.
• Develop and implement customized treatment plans utilizing a variety of techniques and modalities, including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and the use of specialized equipment.
• Monitor patient progress and adapt treatment plans as necessary to achieve recommended therapeutic goals efficiently.
• Document all treatment sessions, including patient responses and progress, to ensure accurate records and facilitate ongoing care.
• Train patients, caregivers, and family members on effective use of therapeutic devices and techniques to promote independence and self-management.
• Stay abreast of the latest practices in physical therapy by participating in workshops, professional development activities, and networking with peers in the field.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on a diverse patient population, including individuals recovering from orthopedic surgery, elderly patients with mobility challenges, and others requiring physical rehabilitation. By providing treatment in patients' homes, you will foster a trusted environment that encourages engagement and participation in their recovery process.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy (DPT) is required.
• A valid state license to practice Physical Therapy in Florida.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective patient interaction and collaboration with family members and healthcare team members.
• Proficiency in using electronic documentation systems for tracking patient progress and treatment plans.
• Ability to work independently and demonstrate flexibility in a dynamic home care setting.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a physical therapy role is preferred but not mandatory.
• Experience in home health care settings is a plus, providing insight into challenges and strategies unique to this environment.
