Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough, trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate clients' trauma history, experiences, and emotional health, which will guide individualized treatment planning.

• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans that prioritize trauma recovery and promote resilience through collaboration with clients.

• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), tailored to client needs.

• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, fostering a supportive space for clients to explore their trauma, practice coping strategies, and begin their healing journey.

• Work collaboratively with psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for clients at all stages of their recovery.

• Respond effectively to crisis situations, providing immediate support and intervention for clients facing trauma-related emergencies.

• Educate clients and their families about trauma responses and coping mechanisms, enhancing their understanding of the therapeutic process and available resources.

• Maintain accurate, confidential documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards, utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems efficiently.

• Participate actively in case consultations, team meetings, and ongoing professional development workshops centered on trauma-informed care.

• Commit to staying abreast of the latest research, trends, and best practices in trauma therapy to continually refine your therapeutic techniques.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role primarily focuses on individuals who have experienced trauma, including survivors of abuse, neglect, and other distressing events. You will support clients of varying ages and backgrounds, creating tailored therapeutic approaches that respect their unique experiences and needs. Your work will directly contribute to their recovery and well-being.

Qualifications\n

• A Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related mental health field from an accredited institution. A Master’s or Doctoral degree is preferred.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in the state of New York.

• Demonstrated knowledge of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment modalities.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an emphasis on empathy, active listening, and a non-judgmental attitude.

• Proven ability to handle high-stress situations with composure and professionalism.

• Experience utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems is essential.

Compensation and Benefits\n
