Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Physical Therapist, you will be responsible for a comprehensive array of tasks that directly impact our clients' recovery and rehabilitation processes. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Directing and administering tailored physical therapy treatments aimed at preventing disabilities, alleviating pain, and enhancing muscle function in alignment with personalized care plans.
• Overseeing the work of physical therapy assistants, ensuring adherence to treatment plans and facilitating the best possible outcomes for clients.
• Conducting thorough evaluations of patients' physical capabilities through diagnostic assessments, to inform treatment approaches and set individualized rehabilitation goals.
• Assessing the rehabilitation environment and recommending modifications that enhance client independence in their daily activities.
• Delivering prescribed physical therapy services within the rehabilitation facility and instructing clients in therapeutic exercises aimed at restoring functionality.
• Administering manual therapy techniques and utilizing various modalities, such as traction and electrical stimulation, to relieve discomfort and improve mobility.
• Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team during case conferences to review treatment plans and ensure comprehensive client care.
• Maintaining meticulous clinical records, including evaluations and progress notes, that comply with regulatory requirements and reflect the quality of care provided.
• Participating in continuous education and professional development initiatives to stay informed of the latest advancements in physical therapy techniques and regulations.
• Actively engaging with patients and their families to help them understand the rehabilitation process and encourage adherence to prescribed treatment protocols.
• Completing additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned to support organizational goals and enhance service delivery.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our rehab facility caters to a wide variety of patients ranging from orthopedic injuries to post-surgical recovery and chronic pain management. You will have the opportunity to work with diverse client profiles, including athletes, older adults, and individuals recovering from acute medical conditions. Qualifications

• Hold a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program.
• Current, valid physical therapy license in the state of Virginia, in good standing.
• Minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience in physical therapy, ideally within an acute care or outpatient setting.
• Proficient in physical therapy methods, regulations, and best practices.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a passion for fostering positive patient and family interactions.
• A strong commitment to clinical excellence, evidence-based practice, and continuous improvement.
• High energy, initiative, and a collaborative team-oriented work ethic.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in a rehabilitation clinic or outpatient therapy environment.
• Previous leadership or mentorship experience with physical therapy assistants.
• Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems for clinical documentation.
• Certifications in specialized areas of therapy (e.g., orthopedics, geriatrics) are a plus.
