Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist at Get Up Set Up Medical Center, you will be entrusted with various responsibilities, including:

• Directing and managing individualized physical therapy treatment plans aimed at preventing disability, relieving pain, improving muscle function, and enhancing overall performance in accordance with established care plans.
• Conducting comprehensive evaluations of patients' physical conditions using diagnostic tests to assess muscle strength, nerve functions, joint capabilities, and daily functional abilities.
• Overseeing and mentoring Physical Therapy Assistants (PTAs) to ensure the effective implementation of prescribed therapy plans while providing mentorship and guidance on advanced techniques.
• Evaluating patient home environments for rehabilitation feasibility and making informed recommendations to optimize patient independence.
• Administering therapeutic exercises, traction, massage, and other treatments utilizing physical agents as prescribed by physicians.
• Documenting patient progress through meticulous clinical records, including initial evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries, ensuring compliance with OASIS and other industry standards.
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to develop, review, and modify patient care plans, and participating in case conferences to enhance comprehensive patient treatment.
• Engaging and instructing patients and families on treatment modalities, including the proper use and care of therapy devices, ensuring involvement in the recovery process.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your expertise will be focused on orthopedic patients, helping individuals recover from a wide array of musculoskeletal conditions. You will work with diverse clients, ranging from post-operative orthopedic patients to individuals managing chronic pain and mobility issues. Our personalized approach means that you will tailor your interventions to fit each patient's specific needs, ensuring they have the support necessary for their rehabilitation journey.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution, with a preference for a Doctorate in Physical Therapy.
• A current and active Physical Therapy license in the state of Florida.
• At least one year of relevant experience in an acute care or home care setting.
• Current CPR certification.
• A valid driver's license and automobile insurance, as travel may be required to assess patients in their homes.

Preferred Experience

In addition to the basic qualifications, preferred candidates will demonstrate:

• A minimum of one year of experience specifically in orthopedic rehabilitation.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local healthcare regulations to ensure compliance.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive annual salary ranging from $100,000 to $120,000, commensurate with experience.
