Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist at Encompass Rehabilitation Center, your responsibilities will include:

• Designing and implementing effective treatment plans based on extensive evaluations of clients' physical conditions and overall health.
• Conducting comprehensive assessments by applying advanced diagnostic and prognostic techniques, including muscle tests and functional capacity evaluations.
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to develop holistic care strategies for each patient.
• Providing therapeutic interventions such as manual therapy, exercise instruction, and modalities like traction and massage, tailored to each patient's condition.
• Supervising and mentoring Physical Therapy Assistants while ensuring compliance with state regulations and company policies.
• Maintaining precise documentation of patient evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries to ensure clarity and continuity of care.
• Communicating regularly with patients and their families to provide guidance and address questions about their treatment and rehabilitation journeys.
• Participating in care team meetings to discuss case management and client progress, adapting plans as needed.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our primary focus is on individuals recovering from surgery, injury, or chronic conditions requiring rehabilitation. The patient population may include elderly individuals with mobility challenges, athletes recovering from injuries, and post-operative patients in need of physical therapy to regain strength and functionality. Our therapists are trained to provide compassionate care and motivate patients, instilling confidence and promoting independence in their rehabilitation journey.

Qualifications

The successful candidate must meet the following qualifications:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy or a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program.
• Possession of a valid state license as a Physical Therapist in Virginia.
• A minimum of two years of relevant clinical experience in a rehabilitation or home care setting.
• Current CPR certification and a valid driver's license.
• Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills with the ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster positive interactions with clients and their families.

Preferred Experience

While 2 years of physical therapy experience are required, candidates with previous experience in acute care or home health settings will be given preference. Demonstrated expertise in using electronic health records (EHR) and physical therapy management software is highly desirable.

Compensation and Benefits

The starting salary for this position ranges from USD 100,000 to 110,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
