Work Environment

The role of the Physician Assistant operates in an onsite surgical center environment, enabling you to directly engage with patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The normal work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, providing a structured yet dynamic work atmosphere. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of patients suffering from various pain syndromes using advanced diagnostic and treatment techniques.
• Implement treatment plans, including medication management, physical therapy recommendations, and potential referrals to specialists, based on evidence-based guidelines.
• Collaborate closely with case management for the seamless coordination of discharge planning, ensuring patients receive continuous care post-visit.
• Accept and manage referrals from other physicians, serving as a consulting provider to evaluate patients requiring hospitalization, ensuring comprehensive care tailored to their specific medical needs.
• Maintain accurate documentation to meet insurance requirements, managing appeals for any necessary denials in a timely and effective manner.
• Participate in on-call schedules to provide specialized care and consultation for patients outside of regular office hours as needed.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This position primarily focuses on adult patients facing an array of chronic pain issues, such as back pain, arthritis, neuropathic pain, and pain resulting from surgical interventions or injuries. You will play a vital role in assessing the pain levels, understanding the individual challenges faced by these patients, and employing a multidisciplinary approach to provide tailored treatment and support.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited institution.
• An active Physician Assistant license, valid in New York State.
• A minimum of three years of clinical experience, preferably in pain management or a related specialty.
• Exceptional communication and organizational skills, enabling efficient patient engagement and care coordination.
• A strong commitment to a team-oriented, performance-driven healthcare environment, advocating for both patients and medical staff.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in pain management or a surgical setting will be advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits
