Key Responsibilities

• Patient Assessment: Perform thorough evaluations of patients presenting with chronic pain conditions. This includes reviewing medical histories, conducting comprehensive physical examinations, and utilizing diagnostic tools to gauge pain severity and impact.
• Treatment Planning: Work collaboratively with our healthcare team to craft individualized pain management plans. Design and implement various treatment strategies, such as medication management, physical therapy regimens, and interventional techniques, including nerve blocks and injections.
• Patient Education: Provide detailed education to patients regarding their diagnoses, treatment options, and pain management strategies, empowering them to take control of their healthcare journey.
• Procedural Assistance: Assist in performing advanced pain management procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout the processes. This may include administering epidural injections and joint injections under the supervision of a physician.
• Follow-up Care: Conduct regular follow-up visits to monitor patient progress, discuss any changes in conditions, and adjust treatment plans as needed to optimize outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Physician Assistant at Cardinal Medical Center, you will primarily work with patients experiencing chronic pain due to various conditions such as arthritis, back injuries, neuropathy, and post-surgical pain. You will focus on building strong therapeutic relationships, understanding their unique situations, and delivering holistic care tailored to their specific needs.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
• Current state licensure as a Physician Assistant in New York.

• A demonstrated commitment to patient-centered care and continuous improvement.

Preferred Experience

• Certification in Pain Management or a related specialty is highly desired.

Compensation and Benefits
