Advanced Physical Therapy is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Physician Assistant specializing in Pain Management to join our team in Jersey City, New Jersey. In this full-time role, you will engage in diagnosing and treating patients experiencing acute and chronic pain conditions, ensuring they receive tailored care that promotes their health and well-being.

Work Environment

This position is situated in our onsite Surgical Center, which facilitates a collaborative environment where healthcare professionals work closely together to deliver coordinated patient care. The facility is equipped with advanced technology and resources aimed at providing the best possible treatment for our patients. The hours for this role are 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday, concluding at 5:00 PM.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive physical examinations on patients, evaluating their medical history and current health status.
• Order, interpret, and analyze diagnostic tests, including blood tests and imaging studies, to inform your treatment decisions.
• Diagnose a range of health conditions related to pain management and develop appropriate treatment plans.
• Propose and implement effective treatment strategies for chronic and acute pain conditions, collaborating with specialists as necessary.
• Prescribe medications and manage therapy regimens while diligently monitoring patient outcomes and adherence.
• Maintain meticulous records of patient interactions and treatment plans using our electronic health record (EHR) system.
• Educate patients and their families on their health conditions, treatment options, and the importance of lifestyle modifications.
• Advocate for and promote preventive healthcare practices tailored to individual patient needs.
• Participate in continuous professional development and training programs to stay abreast of advancements in the field.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work with a diverse patient population facing a variety of pain-related issues, including post-surgical recovery, chronic pain syndromes, and acute injuries. Your role will involve establishing trusting relationships with patients, understanding their unique experiences, and providing empathetic, personalized care that addresses both their physical and emotional needs.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree, with a Master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies preferred.
• Current certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) is required.
• A valid New Jersey State Physician Assistant license is mandatory.
• Possession of a valid DEA number for prescribing medications.
• Recent clinical experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in pain management, urgent care, or primary care practice.
• Strong foundational knowledge of healthcare regulations and patient care protocols.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience working in a multidisciplinary team, particularly in settings focused on pain management or rehabilitation.
• Fluency in additional languages is a plus, enhancing communication with our diverse patient base.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges between USD 120,000 and USD 150,000, commensurate with experience. Our benefits package is comprehensive and includes:
