Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate students' mental health needs, determining the severity and impact of mood disorders on their academic and social performance.

• Design and implement individualized treatment plans that are tailored to the specific needs of each student, taking into consideration their goals, preferences, and family background.

• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), specifically focused on managing anxiety, depression, and other mood disorders.

• Engage in supportive counseling sessions with students and their families, offering education on mood disorders, treatment pathways, and effective self-care strategies.

• Monitor and document student progress, adjusting treatment plans in response to evolving needs and feedback throughout the therapeutic process.

• Collaborate with school staff, caregivers, and external stakeholders to ensure a well-rounded approach to student mental health, actively participating in school meetings and case discussions.

• Stay abreast of the latest research and best practices in mental health treatment, continuously applying advancements in the field to optimize client outcomes.

• Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation of all interactions and treatment plans, adhering to ethical and legal standards in mental health practice.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary focus of this role is on students dealing with various mood disorders, including depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. These students often face challenges that impact their educational experience and emotional well-being. As a mental health counselor, you will play a crucial role in supporting their journey to mental health recovery and academic success, facilitating not only individual therapy but also group sessions and workshops as needed.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in the state of Washington.

• A minimum of three years of post-licensure clinical experience, particularly working with mood disorders.

• Proficiency in evidence-based therapeutic modalities targeted at mood disorders, such as CBT and DBT.

• Strong understanding of psychopharmacology and experience in working collaboratively with psychiatrists and other medical professionals.

Compensation and Benefits\n

This full-time position offers a competitive salary ranging from $90,000 to $100,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
