Work Environment

This role is primarily onsite, as you will conduct rehabilitation sessions in the patients' homes. It allows for flexibility in scheduling, enabling you to choose hours that fit your lifestyle while maintaining a Monday to Friday workweek. You will work in varied environmental conditions as you adapt your approach to meet each patient's unique needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and assess patients' physical abilities and limitations through comprehensive physical examinations within their home environments.
• Develop individualized treatment plans that employ techniques such as therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and the use of specialized equipment aimed at reducing pain and promoting mobility.
• Document patient progress meticulously in adherence to healthcare regulations, ensuring that both patient responses and treatments are accurately recorded.
• Adjust treatment strategies based on ongoing assessments and progress, proposing new goals and rehabilitation outlooks as necessary.
• Train patients and their families on the safe use of assistive devices and effective physical therapy strategies to encourage independent living.
• Participate in team meetings and case discussions to confront challenges and share successes with fellow healthcare professionals.
• Stay informed about developments in your field by engaging in continuing education opportunities, workshops, and industry networking.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work with a diverse array of patients, including children, seniors, and individuals with chronic conditions or those recovering from surgeries. Your ability to tailor therapies to various demographics, including those needing specialized attention for mobility impairments, will significantly impact patient recovery outcomes.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy (DPT) is required.
• A valid physical therapy license issued by the state of Virginia.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for effective patient and family interaction.
• Proficiency in computer skills and document preparation for maintaining accurate patient records.
• A strong commitment to providing high-quality, individualized care.
• Demonstrated adaptability and flexibility in handling diverse patient scenarios.

Preferred Experience

• At least 2 years of professional experience as a Physical Therapist, with a focus on home care environments.
• Experience working with geriatric and pediatric populations is a strong advantage.

Compensation and Benefits
