The Union Family Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMFT, LMHC, LICSW) to join our team. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations, including preliminary interviews, and document findings meticulously from the initial consultation through to the conclusion of treatment.

• Evaluate clients’ mental, behavioral, and emotional health as a foundation for developing tailored intervention plans for individuals, couples, families, and groups.
\n
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions that encourage open dialogue and self-exploration.
\n
• Monitor client progress throughout treatment to adjust interventions based on individual needs and responses, ensuring optimal outcomes.
\n
• Collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals—including doctors, nurses, and social workers—to develop cohesive treatment plans and ensure seamless care for clients.
\n
• Follow up with psychiatrists and attending physicians regarding clients who have been admitted to the hospital, ensuring continuity of care and effective communication.
\n
• Identify potential barriers to recovery and implement strategies to mitigate these challenges, fostering a supportive environment for clients and families.

• Provide guidance and support to family members and primary caregivers in managing the mental and behavioral health needs of their loved ones.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your work will primarily focus on a diverse population of clients in the Seattle area who experience a range of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma-related disorders, and family dynamics. You will have the opportunity to make a significant impact in clients’ lives by offering individualized care and resources tailored to their specific circumstances.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, or LICSW in the state of Washington is essential for this role.

• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Prior professional experience as a mental health counselor is necessary to be considered for this position.
\n
• Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems, such as AVATAR, to document patient information and treatment plans efficiently.

Preferred Experience\n

• Demonstrated experience dealing with clients suffering from underlying physical and emotional health conditions, as well as addiction disorders.

• Familiarity with the best practices recommended by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
\n
• In-depth knowledge of psychotropic medications prescribed by medical providers, including understanding their effects and interactions.
\n
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to ensure clarity and empathy in all client interactions.
\n
• Strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate demeanor are vital to building rapport with clients.

Compensation and Benefits\n

We offer a competitive salary range of USD 80,000 to 100,000 annually, with a signing bonus to welcome new team members.
