Henry S. Khanzadian Kazan Visiting Professor – Lecturer in Armenian Studies Program The Armenian Studies Program offers courses on Armenian history, language and literature, art and architecture, film, William Saroyan, the Genocide, and contemporary issues. Courses in Armenian history are also offered under the Department of History. Position Summary The successful candidate will teach a course in modern Armenian Studies (19th century or later) with an emphasis on the Armenian Genocide. A brief outline of the intended course content should be provided. The visiting professor may teach more than one course and is expected to give three public lectures on a single topic to be published as a monograph. Instructor Responsibilities Adhere to university and system‑wide policies. Prepare, deliver, proctor, and grade lectures, office hours, homework, quizzes, projects, and exams. Collaborate with faculty and staff and support distance‑learning options. Conditional Appointment Appointment contingent on budget and enrollment and subject to order of assignment provisions under the collective bargaining agreement. Temporary faculty may be appointed on a one‑semester basis; preferred semesters should be listed (Fall or Spring). Salary Range Planned salary commensurate with experience: $6,______–$13,______ per month for full‑time teaching (15 WTUs). Starting salaries are typically at or near the minimum of the range and are adjusted based on workload. Required Qualifications Earned doctorate from an accredited institution or foreign equivalent. Record of distinguished publication and research in modern Armenian Studies or a closely related field. Professional university‑level teaching or research experience in Armenian Studies, Armenian History, or a related field. Commitment to working with faculty, staff, and students from diverse backgrounds.
