Work Environment

This position is based onsite in the homes of our clients in Lehigh Acres and surrounding areas. Our Home Care setting offers the unique opportunity to provide therapy in an environment that fosters comfort and familiarity for our clients. You will collaborate closely with a supportive team of healthcare professionals, enhancing your skills and knowledge while directly impacting patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and tailor physical therapy interventions aimed at preventing disability and relieving pain, while systematically improving or restoring muscle function in accordance with each client's plan of care.
• Oversee and guide Physical Therapy Assistants, ensuring that the treatment plan is executed effectively and efficiently during each session.
• Conduct thorough evaluations of the client's physical abilities, employing diagnostic tests to assess muscle, nerve, joint, and functional levels.
• Assess the home environment to recommend solutions that promote the client's independence in daily activities.
• Deliver prescribed physical therapy services in the comfort of our client's home and encourage their participation in manual and non-manual exercises tailored to their specific needs.
• Administer hands-on therapeutic exercises, traction, massage, and various physical agents to enhance the therapeutic process.
• Evaluate, adjust, and fit prosthetic and orthotic devices as necessary based on client progress, collaborating with physicians for any required modifications.
• Participate actively in the interdisciplinary team meetings, contributing to holistic care planning and regular treatment evaluations.
• Compile comprehensive clinical records, including initial evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries, ensuring they align with compliance guidelines.
• Instruct clients and their families on the use of therapeutic devices and the overall physical therapy program, empowering them to take ownership of their recovery.
• Complete ongoing assessments of home care plans and promote resource utilization to optimize client care.
• Maintain timely documentation of clinical and payroll orders in accordance with organizational policies.
• Support and mentor Physical Therapy Assistants under your supervision, ensuring adherence to best practices while fostering an environment of learning and growth.

As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist, you will primarily work with clients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports-related injuries, and chronic musculoskeletal conditions. Qualifications

• Hold a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in orthopedic physical therapy is ideal, particularly in home care environments.
