Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and diagnoses of acute and chronic cardiac conditions in patients.
• Develop and implement detailed treatment plans, including ordering appropriate diagnostic tests such as echocardiograms, stress tests, and blood work.
• Effectively prescribe medications and other therapies while monitoring patient responses and adjusting treatments accordingly.
• Educate patients and their families on cardiac health, prevention strategies, and lifestyle modifications to manage conditions effectively.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and optimize treatment outcomes.
• Maintain meticulous medical records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations and organization policies.
• Actively participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to hospital-wide strategies aimed at enhancing patient care and safety.
• Stay informed about the latest healthcare developments, best practices, and regulatory changes impacting cardiology.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on a diverse patient population, including adults and seniors with various heart conditions, such as hypertension, heart failure, and arrhythmias. Many patients may present with comorbidities requiring a holistic approach to care, addressing both cardiac and overall health needs.

Qualifications

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program, with a specialization in Cardiology preferred.
• Valid Nurse Practitioner licensure in the state of Maryland.
• Certification in a recognized Nurse Practitioner specialty area such as Cardiovascular or Adult-Gerontology.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in cardiology or a closely related field.
• Demonstrable clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, with a empathetic approach to patient interactions.
• Proficient at working in collaborative healthcare environments, thriving under pressure while maintaining high standards of care.

Preferred Experience

Experience with advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) and familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems is preferred. A background in outpatient cardiology also enhances suitability for this position, enabling you to deliver care across diverse settings effectively.

Compensation and Benefits

The position offers a competitive salary range of USD 120,000 to 140,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
