Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients undergoing orthopedic care, assessing their physical capabilities and functional performance based on established diagnostic criteria.
• Develop and implement personalized physical therapy treatment plans aimed at preventing disability, relieving pain, and restoring muscle function.
• Supervise and mentor Physical Therapy Assistants, ensuring that care delivery aligns with each patient's unique plan of care.
• Employ advanced therapeutic modalities, including manual therapy techniques, therapeutic exercises, and the application of physical agents to facilitate patient recovery and enhance mobility.
• Monitor patient progress meticulously, documenting evaluations, treatment results, and any necessary adjustments to therapeutic plans while adhering to clinical protocols.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team during case conferences to ensure a cohesive approach to treatment that encompasses the medical, emotional, and social dimensions of patient care.
• Educate patients and their families on rehabilitation techniques, safety guidelines, and the proper use of orthotic devices, ensuring that they have the knowledge required for effective home care.
• Maintain accurate clinical records, including initial evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries, in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Advise on environmental adaptations that could enhance patient independence during their rehabilitation journey.
• Participate actively in ongoing professional development and training sessions to stay abreast of the latest advancements in orthopedic physical therapy.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist, you will primarily serve patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, injuries, and conditions, including but not limited to joint replacements, fractures, and sports injuries. Your expertise will guide patients through rehabilitation, focusing on both their immediate recovery needs and their long-term mobility goals, ensuring they regain independence in their daily lives.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program is required.
• A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in orthopedic rehabilitation or a similar setting.
• Current state licensure in Florida to practice as a Physical Therapist.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement personalized treatment plans based on patient assessments.
• Knowledge of physical therapy modalities and techniques, as well as a commitment to continuing education.

Preferred Experience

• Experience within a rehabilitation center or acute care setting is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from USD 100,000 to 120,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
