While the majority of your interactions may occur online, our outpatient office in Oceanside, California, stands ready for occasional in-person meetings and team-building events. You will engage with interdisciplinary team members, such as midwives and lactation consultants, and be welcomed into a community-centric atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Provide comprehensive behavioral health assessments to Black birthing families, developing tailored counseling and case management plans based on individual needs.
\n
• Conduct and facilitate virtual counseling sessions, ensuring that clients feel heard and supported while navigating challenges related to their mental health during pregnancy and postpartum.
\n
• Collaborate closely with prenatal care team members—such as medical providers, midwives, and doulas—to design and implement integrated care strategies that promote overall health outcomes.
\n
• Co-facilitate childbirth education sessions and postpartum peer support groups, fostering a safe space for discussion and connection among participants.
\n
• Participate in community outreach and engagement activities aimed at building supportive networks and promoting holistic wellness among birthing individuals and their families.
\n
• Actively participate in clinical consultations and professional development opportunities to enhance collaborative practice within the multidiscipline team.
\n
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and organizational requirements.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This position is specifically focused on providing mental health support to Black birthing families. Understanding the unique cultural, social, and historical contexts that can impact mental well-being during this critical time is essential. You will work to ensure that these clients have access to mental health resources and support that acknowledges their lived experiences and challenges.

Qualifications\n

• A master’s degree in behavioral sciences or a closely related field from an accredited institution is required.
\n
• Current licensure as an LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker), LMFT (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist), or LPCC (Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor) is necessary.

• Demonstrated ability to collaborate professional with diverse and multicultural teams while exhibiting excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
\n
• Capability to work both autonomously and as part of a larger team, asking for assistance as needed to achieve client goals.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience in maternal mental health, especially with birthing populations and their specific needs.

• Familiarity with community resources and programs available to support Black families in their perinatal journey.

• History of participation in community engagement, wellness initiatives, or client advocacy will be advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits\n
