Peer Support Behavioral Center is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) to join our dynamic team. In this full-time, remote role, you will have the opportunity to provide essential mental health services to our diverse patient population in El Paso, Texas. As a remote-position counselor, you will work from a decentralized setting, providing care to clients through teletherapy and digital communication platforms. Your home office will be supported by our administrative team, ensuring you have access to necessary resources for effective practice. While you will have the flexibility to manage your schedule, you will also be expected to meet the program's productivity targets for billable services on a weekly basis.

• Collaborate with primary care providers to identify, assess, and manage the mental health needs of patients, ensuring holistic care through team-based approaches.
• Conduct thorough patient intakes, including diagnostic assessments and functional evaluations, to inform treatment plans tailored to each individual.
• Provide brief, focused interventions for clients seeking mental health services, employing evidence-based practices to foster positive outcomes.
• Advise primary care providers on patient referrals, determining when clients should receive specialty mental health services versus remaining within primary care.
• Follow up with patients to monitor progress, reassess treatment efficacy, and adjust approaches as necessary for better outcomes.
• Develop and implement relapse prevention plans to support clients in maintaining stability and achieving their personal health goals.
• Identify “at risk” patients and work collaboratively to develop strategies that preempt further deterioration of their mental health.
• Document assessment findings and treatment progress accurately in electronic health records, ensuring compliance with Agency and Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) guidelines.
• Educate patients on self-management techniques and equip them with tools to engage actively in their recovery process.
• Participate in clinical consultations, sharing insights on service delivery and contributing to program evaluations aimed at improving therapeutic outcomes.
• Assist clients in adhering to medical treatments prescribed by primary care providers, providing strategies to cope with side effects.
• Maintain adherence to the professional Code of Ethical Conduct for Clinical Professionals and remain current with best practices in mental health care.
• Fulfill additional duties as assigned to contribute to the overall mission of the clinic.

This role primarily supports a diverse clientele, including individuals with varying backgrounds, ages, and mental health challenges. By utilizing a culturally competent approach, you will address the unique needs of each patient while fostering an inclusive environment. Your work will directly impact clients from differing socioeconomic statuses, ensuring they receive equitable access to mental health services.

• A minimum of a Master’s Degree in Clinical Counseling or a closely related field.
• A current and valid Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) license in Texas.
• Extensive knowledge of mental health assessments, treatment planning methodologies, developmental psychopathology, and relevant therapeutic techniques.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred, enhancing our ability to serve our diverse community.
• Strong understanding of the impact of physical and mental health on individuals and their families.
• Ability to utilize community resources effectively, ensuring comprehensive care and support for patients.
• Skill in utilizing psychodiagnostics and psychotherapeutic techniques to inform treatment frameworks.
• Exemplary communication skills with a focus on fostering therapeutic relationships with clients.

• Experience working in outpatient settings or integrated care environments is preferred.
• Prior experience in a multidisciplinary team setting is highly valued, as cross-collaboration enhances patient care.
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems and telehealth platforms is an advantage.

The Licensed Professional Counselor position offers an annual salary range of USD 87,000 – 105,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
