Work Environment\n

This role is primarily remote, with the expectation of providing sessions either in clients' homes or at our designated outpatient office, strategically located in San Francisco. You will benefit from a supportive team environment that encourages ongoing professional development and collaboration with other healthcare professionals. Your typical work schedule will be 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday, with some flexibility for after-school hours, particularly from 4 PM to 7 PM, to accommodate clients' needs.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Deliver targeted individual and group therapy sessions, either remotely or in the outpatient center, tailored to address specific behavioral and emotional challenges faced by clients.

• Foster coping strategies, enhance social skills, and implement anger management techniques while working to reduce high-risk behaviors such as self-injurious behavior (SIB) and physical aggression.
\n
• Collaborate consistently with a multidisciplinary Child Family Treatment Team, ensuring a holistic approach that includes input from various professionals involved in the client's care.
\n
• Document all therapeutic interactions accurately and submit required documentation—including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes—within designated time frames.
\n
• Engage in regular team meetings, contributing observations and recommendations to improve therapy programs and client outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The LMFT in this position will work primarily with children and adolescents aged 3 to 20 who are facing developmental and intellectual disabilities. This demographic often requires unique, tailored therapeutic approaches to address their individual challenges, and our services emphasize a family-centered model allowing for caregiver involvement in the therapeutic process.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or a related field is required.

• Candidates must possess an active and unrestricted LMFT license in California.
\n
• Ability to provide therapy during after-school hours (4 PM - 7 PM) for 5-10 hours weekly, with some weekend flexibility being an asset.

• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle are necessary for home visits.
\n
• Commitment to passing a criminal background check, including fingerprinting for client safety.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience in providing positive behavior support and working with children experiencing intellectual or developmental disabilities is highly preferred.

• Experience in community-based therapy settings where collaborative practices with other professionals were emphasized.

Compensation and Benefits\n
