Key Responsibilities\n

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Independence Therapy Center, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Conducting comprehensive trauma-informed assessments to evaluate patients' histories and formulate tailored treatment strategies.

• Creating and executing individualized treatment plans aimed at fostering recovery, resilience, and overall mental wellness.

• Implementing evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including but not limited to Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).

• Collaborating with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated, holistic care for our patients.

• Providing immediate crisis intervention and support to clients during trauma-related emergencies.
\n
• Educating clients and their families about trauma, coping strategies, and available support resources.

• Maintaining detailed, confidential documentation that adheres to legal and ethical standards in mental health practice.

• Engaging actively in case consultations, team meetings, and continuous professional development opportunities.

• Staying informed about the latest research and methodologies regarding trauma therapy to enhance clinical practice.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Qualifications\n

To qualify for this role, candidates must possess the following:

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Georgia.

• A strong understanding of trauma-related disorders and evidenced-based trauma-informed treatment modalities.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, coupled with a compassionate, non-judgmental approach to client care.

• Competence in utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems effectively.

Preferred Experience\n

While a minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in a clinical setting is preferred, candidates with a strong background in trauma-focused therapies and an eagerness to learn will also be considered. Proficiency in engaging with diverse populations and delivering empathetic care will be highly valued. Ability to maintain composure in high-stress scenarios is essential.
