Licensed Mental Health Counselor (Remote) - LMFT, LPC, LCSW

Position Overview

Wise Recovery Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team in a full-time remote capacity. This role will offer you the opportunity to provide impactful mental health services to our diverse clientele, guiding them on their journey toward recovery and well-being. As a mental health counselor, you will conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and employ therapeutic interventions tailored to individual needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct initial assessments to evaluate clients' mental, behavioral, and emotional health, documenting findings and treatment recommendations.
• Create and implement comprehensive treatment plans based on initial evaluations, tailored to address individual, couple, family, and group needs.
• Facilitate individual therapy sessions using a variety of therapeutic techniques, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and solution-focused approaches, to foster positive change.
• Lead group therapy sessions to provide support and education on mental health topics, promoting peer interactions and shared experiences.
• Regularly monitor client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure continued advancement toward recovery goals.
• Collaborate with other mental health professionals, including psychiatrists, social workers, and primary care providers, to create a cohesive treatment experience for clients.
• Maintain accurate and compliant documentation through electronic health record systems such as AVATAR, ensuring all legal and ethical standards are met.
• Engage with family members and caregivers, providing education and strategies to support the mental health needs of clients effectively.
• Stay updated on industry best practices and participate in case conferences and professional development opportunities.

Patient Population / Client Focus

At Wise Recovery Counseling Center, we serve a diverse range of clients, including adolescents, adults, couples, and families dealing with a variety of mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use disorders. As a counselor, you will be instrumental in creating a safe space for these individuals to explore their feelings, learn coping strategies, and build resilience. Your role will directly contribute to improving their overall mental health outcomes and quality of life.

Qualifications

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of New Jersey.
• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members.
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills characterized by empathy, patience, and an understanding nature.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience working as a mental health counselor in a clinical setting, particularly in telehealth.
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, specifically AVATAR, is a plus.
• Experience addressing co-occurring mental health and substance abuse issues, as well as an understanding of relevant physical health conditions.
• Knowledge of the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices and guidelines.
• An understanding of psychotropic medications that may impact treatment strategies.

Compensation and Benefits
