Family Matters Care Consultants is seeking a full-time Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a strong focus on trauma-informed care to join our dynamic team. This pivotal role involves providing specialized mental health therapy to clients who have experienced trauma, aiming to facilitate their healing and resilience.

Work Environment\n

This position is fully remote, leveraging telehealth modalities to provide accessible care to clients. You will work from the comfort of your own home while engaging with colleagues in a collaborative virtual setting. Our work schedule is primarily Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility required to accommodate client needs.

Key Responsibilities\n

As a Mental Health Counselor, your responsibilities will include:

• Conducting thorough trauma-informed assessments to understand patients' histories and determine appropriate therapeutic approaches.

• Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans that focus on trauma recovery, resilience building, and overall mental well-being.
\n
• Utilizing evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to facilitate healing.

• Leading both individual and group therapy sessions that empower clients to process trauma, enhance coping strategies, and promote emotional healing.

• Collaborating with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated and comprehensive care for clients.

• Offering crisis intervention and support during critical trauma-related emergencies to ensure client safety and well-being.

• Educating clients and their families about trauma responses, coping mechanisms, and available therapeutic resources.

• Maintaining accurate and confidential client records in accordance with legal and ethical standards.

• Engaging in case consultations, team meetings, and professional development activities that focus on trauma-informed care.

• Staying abreast of the latest research and best practices in trauma therapy to enhance service delivery.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our clients primarily include individuals who have experienced significant trauma, requiring sensitive and specialized therapeutic interventions. You will work with a diverse population, including those suffering from PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders, guiding them on their path toward recovery.

Qualifications\n

To thrive in this role, you must possess the following qualifications:

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Texas.
\n
• A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience in a clinical setting.
\n
• Thorough knowledge of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment methodologies.
\n
• Experience employing trauma-focused therapeutic interventions.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with an empathetic and non-judgmental approach towards clients.
\n
• The ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations.
\n
• Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and various computer applications relevant to mental health practice.
\n
• A collaborative spirit, ready to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Experience\n

While not mandatory, candidates with experience in delivering trauma-focused therapies and a robust understanding of resilience-building approaches will be highly favored. Additional training or certifications in EMDR and TF-CBT will also enhance your candidacy.

Compensation and Benefits\n
