Work Environment

The Sports Physical Therapist role is primarily a home care setting, allowing you to interact with patients in their familiar and comfortable environments. This setting encourages personalized therapy plans that consider each patient's unique circumstances and lifestyle. Our schedule operates Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, providing a structured yet flexible work-life balance. As a member of our team, you will engage in interdisciplinary collaboration with other healthcare professionals, enhancing the overall care experience for our patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical conditions, including range of motion, strength, balance, and functional capabilities, to develop individualized rehabilitation plans.
• Implement highly effective therapeutic techniques, such as manual therapy, functional training, and neuromuscular re-education, tailored to each patient's specific injury or condition.
• Educate patients and their families on best practices for injury management, exercise regimens, and preventive strategies that promote long-term health and athletic performance.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records using electronic medical records (EMR), tracking patient progress and modifying treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Engage in community outreach initiatives, providing education on sports health and wellness to promote injury prevention and healthy lifestyles among local athletes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work closely with athletes of all ages, from weekend warriors to competitive sports enthusiasts, as well as active individuals seeking to enhance their performance. Our client base includes those recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, and chronic pain conditions. This role not only emphasizes physical recovery but also places importance on mental and emotional support, recognizing the holistic needs of our patients.

Qualifications

• Doctorate or Master's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• A current Florida PT license or eligibility to obtain one prior to your start date.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in sports medicine or orthopedic physical therapy is required.
• Certification as a Sports Certified Specialist (SCS) is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in using electronic medical record systems is necessary for efficient patient management.
• Excellent communication skills, with a proven patient-centered approach to care.
• CPR/BLS Certification from the American Heart Association is required.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in home health care settings is a plus.
• Additional certifications in techniques such as dry needling or Kinesio taping will be an asset to our team.
• Strong background in developing group education sessions and community workshops would enrich our outreach efforts.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary within the range of $90,000 to $100,000 per year, with performance-based incentives that recognize your hard work and dedication.
