The Midwest Counseling Center is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Mental Health Therapist, with credentials including LMFT, LPC, or LCSW, to join our remote team. Work Environment

As a remote team member, you will enjoy the flexibility of working from home while remaining a vital part of our inclusive and supportive practice. Our schedule runs Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with some variability to meet patient needs. You will utilize telehealth platforms, creating a seamless connection with clients while maintaining high standards of care. Collaborating with our multidisciplinary team will ensure that you receive ongoing support and supervision in a high-spirited work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive and culturally-sensitive mental health assessments to understand clients’ unique circumstances, developing tailored treatment plans accordingly.
• Implement evidence-based interventions suited to individual patient needs, taking into account their cultural, social, and personal contexts.
• Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions, employing therapeutic techniques that engage clients in meaningful exploration of their mental health concerns.
• Collaborate effectively with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other professionals to coordinate care and enhance treatment outcomes.
• Provide crisis intervention and support, demonstrating strong decision-making skills during emergencies.
• Educate clients and families on mental health conditions, treatment avenues, and community resources to empower them in their journey.
• Maintain accurate and confidential clinical documentation that meets legal and ethical standards.
• Participate actively in case conferences and team meetings, contributing to an atmosphere of shared learning and professional growth.
• Stay updated on the latest research and best practices related to cultural competence in mental health therapy.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In your role, you will engage with individuals from a variety of backgrounds, including ethnic and cultural minorities, the LGBTQ+ community, and immigrant populations. Your culturally responsive approach will be essential in ensuring that all patients feel understood and valued, which is fundamental to their therapeutic experience. You will have the opportunity to address mental health issues ranging from anxiety and depression to trauma and complex relational dynamics, adapting your interventions to meet the unique needs of each client.

Qualifications

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• A current and valid license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Texas.
• Extensive knowledge of mental health disorders, evidence-based treatment modalities, and cultural competence in therapy practices.
• Experience delivering therapy via both individual and group settings, utilizing inclusive and culturally responsive methods.
• Strong crisis intervention skills, maintaining composure in acute situations to support client needs.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities to build rapport with a diverse client base.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and general software applications necessary for telehealth provision.
• A strong commitment to professional ethics, confidentiality, and maintaining professional boundaries.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing to collaborative treatment planning.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of two years of experience in a mental health setting, focusing on culturally diverse populations.
• Proven track record in applying culturally informed practices within therapeutic contexts.
• Participation in ongoing training related to cultural competencies and evidence-based practices.
