Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments to accurately evaluate the psychological needs of children and adolescents, utilizing standardized assessment tools and techniques.

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to the developmental stages, emotional needs, and unique circumstances of each client and their family.

• Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy and play therapy, to effectively address a variety of mental health concerns in young individuals.

• Facilitate family therapy sessions to empower parents and caregivers, equipping them with strategies to create a nurturing and supportive home environment.

• Engage in close collaboration with child psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated, holistic care for our patients, participating in case conferences and consultations as necessary.

• Provide crisis intervention and immediate support during mental health emergencies involving children and adolescents, employing de-escalation techniques and supportive communication skills.

• Educate patients and their families about mental health disorders, treatment options, and available community resources, fostering understanding and engagement in the treatment process.

• Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation in compliance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards, utilizing electronic health record systems effectively.

• Actively participate in ongoing professional development activities, including team meetings and case reviews, ensuring your skills remain sharp and informed by current research and best practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will primarily work with children and adolescents dealing with mental health issues, ranging from mild anxiety and depression to more complex conditions that require tailored therapeutic interventions. Your role will involve forming trusting relationships with young clients, understanding their unique backgrounds, and guiding them and their families toward healing and resilience.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in New York State, ensuring compliance with state requirements to practice in a mental health capacity.

• Minimum of three years of post-licensure experience is preferred, with a strong background in treating children and adolescents.

• In-depth knowledge of child and adolescent mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment modalities, coupled with the ability to apply them effectively in practice.

• Proven experience in delivering both individual and family therapy, demonstrating adept interpersonal skills and a compassionate approach to client care.

Compensation and Benefits\n

Unity Care Counseling offers a competitive salary ranging from $90,000 to $100,000 per year for this full-time position.
