Grady Counseling Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate licensed mental health counselor to join our outpatient team. This full-time position focuses on providing high-quality mental health care to children and adolescents, with the goal of supporting their emotional well-being and developmental needs. Work Environment\n

This position is primarily remote, allowing for flexibility and work-life balance while still being part of a dedicated and passionate team. While your primary work schedule will be Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, you may be required to accommodate occasional evening shifts based on the needs of our patients. Our outpatient office provides a welcoming atmosphere that encourages therapeutic engagement with our young clients and their families.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments to gather detailed information about the needs and challenges faced by children and adolescents.

• Develop customized treatment plans that are tailored to individual developmental stages and family dynamics to ensure effective interventions.

• Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, utilizing a variety of modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), play therapy, and family systems therapy to address a range of mental health concerns.

• Facilitate family therapy sessions aimed at educating and engaging parents and caregivers in the therapeutic process and fostering a supportive home environment.

• Work collaboratively with child psychiatrists and multidisciplinary team members to coordinate care, share insights, and ensure continuity in treatment plans.

• Provide crisis intervention during mental health emergencies, offering immediate support and stabilization strategies.
\n
• Educate clients and their families on mental health conditions, treatment options, and available community resources to empower them in their recovery.

• Maintain meticulous records of client interactions, assessments, treatment plans, and progress in compliance with legal and ethical standards, utilizing our electronic health record (EHR) systems.

• Engage actively in team meetings, case consultations, and ongoing professional development to remain informed of the latest trends and practices in child and adolescent psychology.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The ideal candidate will work predominantly with children and adolescents facing a variety of mental health issues—ranging from anxiety and depression to ADHD and disruptive behavioral disorders. Our practice emphasizes a family-focused approach, advocating for the involvement of parents and guardians in the therapeutic journey to foster a supportive context for each young client.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Active licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in the state of New York.
\n
• Strong foundational knowledge of child and adolescent mental health disorders and evidence-based therapeutic modalities.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating a compassionate and child-centered approach with a strong ability to establish trust with clients and their families.

• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems to provide efficient documentation and management of patient data.
\n
• Capacity to work collaboratively in a team setting and contribute to a multidisciplinary approach to treatment.

Preferred Experience\n

• Minimum of two years of post-licensure experience providing direct mental health services to children and adolescents.

• Prior experience conducting individual and family therapy with a strong emphasis on developing therapeutic relationships.

Compensation and Benefits\n
