Full-Time Physician Assistant - Pain Management Specialist

Work Environment

As a Physician Assistant at our onsite Surgical Center, you will work in a dynamic healthcare setting surrounded by dedicated professionals who are committed to pain management. You will have immediate access to experienced physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals, fostering a culture of mutual respect and active collaboration. Your role will primarily involve working at the surgical center, where you will assist with various medical procedures and patient care initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including detailed medical histories and thorough physical examinations.
• Develop, implement, and assess individualized treatment plans in conjunction with attending physicians, ensuring alignment with best practices and patient needs.
• Provide medication management, including prescribing medications and therapies, while monitoring responses to treatment and making necessary adjustments.
• Perform pain management procedures such as joint injections, nerve blocks, and trigger point injections, subject to your credentials and training.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using our Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
• Participate in regular team meetings to discuss patient cases and collaborate on multidisciplinary approaches to pain management.
• Engage in continuous professional development through ongoing education and training opportunities to stay abreast of new treatments and methodologies in pain management.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will be working primarily with patients experiencing chronic pain conditions, including but not limited to arthritis, fibromyalgia, neuropathic pain, and post-operative pain management. The patients at our facility often have complex medical histories requiring a comprehensive, empathetic, and systematic approach to treatment, underscoring the importance of effective communication and collaboration among the care team.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted Physician Assistant license in New York State.
• Bachelor's Degree in Physician Assistant studies from an accredited program.
• Proficiency in medical documentation and familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
• A patient-centered approach that prioritizes compassion and empathy in providing care.
• Ability to function effectively both independently and as a key member of a collaborative healthcare team.

Preferred Experience

• At least 2 years of hands-on experience in pain management or a closely related field.
• Experience utilizing EMR systems effectively in a clinical setting.
• Background in performing various pain management interventions and procedures.

Compensation and Benefits
