This position operates in a hybrid environment, primarily focusing on remote therapy sessions, complemented by face-to-face meetings in our outpatient office as necessary. Key Responsibilities\n

• Provide individualized therapy sessions through telehealth platforms or in-person meetings at the outpatient clinic and clients’ homes, focusing on fostering meaningful therapeutic relationships.

• Assist clients in developing coping mechanisms, enhancing social skills, and managing behaviors related to anger and self-harm, utilizing evidence-based treatment techniques.

• Engage with families to bolster decision-making skills, equipping both caregivers and children with strategies to manage behavioral challenges effectively.

• Document all therapy sessions, treatment plans, and progress notes in a timely manner, adhering to organizational policies and state regulations.
\n
• Participate in monthly team meetings, contributing insights and recommendations based on your therapy sessions to enhance the collective support strategies.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role specifically supports children and adolescents aged 3 to 20 years who are experiencing developmental and intellectual disabilities. You will work closely with a diverse group of families, ensuring that therapeutic interventions are culturally sensitive and tailored to meet the unique needs of each client. The ability to communicate effectively in Spanish or Portuguese is highly valued, as it expands our reach to bilingual families seeking support.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, Social Work, or a related field.

• An active and unrestricted LMFT license is mandatory.
\n
• Availability for at least 5-10 hours of service weekly during after-school hours (between 4 PM to 7 PM), with the flexibility to also work on weekends as needed.

Preferred Experience\n

• Demonstrated experience in providing positive behavior support.
\n
• Prior work with children and adolescents with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) is preferred.

• Familiarity with therapeutic models and interventions specific to child and family therapy.

• A valid driver’s license, a registered vehicle, and the ability to pass a comprehensive criminal background check, including fingerprinting.
