Key Responsibilities

• Direct and implement individualized physical therapy treatment plans aimed at alleviating pain, restoring function, and enhancing mobility.
• Oversee and mentor physical therapy assistants to ensure the effective application of treatment protocols.
• Conduct comprehensive evaluations that include diagnostic and functional assessments of muscle and joint capabilities, tailoring treatment plans based on patient progression.
• Design rehabilitation programs that recognize the unique environmental needs of each patient, facilitating independence in home settings.
• Administer a variety of therapeutic interventions, including manual therapy techniques, exercise regimens, and the use of modalities such as ultrasound and electrical stimulation.
• Assess and recommend modifications for prosthetic and orthotic devices to enhance patient mobility and comfort.
• Maintain meticulous clinical records, including evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries, compliant with organizational policies.
• Participate actively in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss care plans and contribute to patient outcomes.
• Educate patients and their families on therapy modalities, exercise regimens, and self-care strategies to foster greater recovery at home.
• Ensure timely documentation and communication with physicians and care management teams regarding changes in patient status and therapy effectiveness.
• Provide occasional supervision and training to physical therapy assistants as required by state regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
• A minimum of one year of clinical experience, preferably in orthopedic rehabilitation.
• Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist in Florida.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with patients, families, and team members.
• Ability to assess patient needs and develop comprehensive care plans.

Preferred Experience
